Calf Leather Care Instructions

Although calf leather has tough structure, it’s still susceptible to stains, scratches, and wrinkles due to its fine grain and thin nature, so regular maintenance is necessary if you want your calf leather to last long time.

Calf leather bags generally last up to 7 to 8 years. Regular maintenance can extend the life to 20 to 30 years

How to maintain a calf leather bag

  1. Do not irradiate under strong light to prevent the oil from drying out, causing the fibrous tissue to shrink and the leather to harden and crack.
  1. Avoid exposure to the sun, fire, washing, sharp objects and contact with chemical solvents.
  1. When the leather bag is not in use, it is best to store it in a cotton cloth instead of a plastic bag, because the lack of air circulation in the plastic bag will cause the leather to dry out and be damaged. It's a good idea to stuff the bag with some soft toilet paper to keep the bag in shape. If you don't have a suitable cloth bag, old pillowcases work well too.
  1. If it is not used for a long time, put some paper in it to prevent deformation. When it is exposed to rain in rainy days, wipe it dry and put it in a ventilated place to dry it to prevent mildew.
